A New Chapter: Meet Bodo, Our New CTO

Every company reaches an inflection point. For us, that moment is now. Everything we build starts with one question: Does this make it easier for you to create clarity, compliance, and measurable improvement?

Today, we’re excited to share a major step forward in how we’ll serve you. Bodo Hoenen has joined our leadership team as our first Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Bodo’s focus is clear: To transform our 12 Tools™ Methodology from a static, workshop-friendly framework into an intuitive online community for building visual tools, micro-courses, AI advisors, and exchanging best practices.

“For decades, the tools have evolved through supporting management system design and implementation; typically due to customer requirement for compliance and certification in very tricky industries like automotive, medical device and other advanced manufacturing supply chains. Now is the time to bring our methodology to scale and see if the world can give these tools a new life.” says our Founder, James Thompson. “What began as a practical set of tools and templates has evolved into something much bigger. We’re building a digital ecosystem where work teams can build models and visual communication artifacts to align their teams on where they are right now and where they’re going next. There is no way we could make this happen without Bodo on our team to turn this vision into a reality.”

Why Bodo?

Bodo was added to our team as a member of our Board of Advisors in 2025. We’ve wanted to pivot from a traditional business consulting firm to a “BizTech” model for many years. After struggling to build a specific tool in-house, Bodo offered to “see what I can do with this”. What he came back with was precisely what we’ve been looking for.

Bodo continued to build various mock-ups and MVPs (minimal viable products) for us at impressive speed. His intelligence, approach to innovating, and persistence in problem solving has brought new energy to our team. His years of experience in tech startups, learning management systems (LMS), the use of AI in business operations… we could go on and on. Did I mention that he built a brain-controlled exoskeleton for his paralyzed daughter because the specialists in NYC weren’t addressing her condition fast enough? It takes a special person to think that way. That’s why we picked him. Or perhaps he picked us.

Why Now?

There are 4 major waves coming together:

  • the AI revolution

  • too much complexity and noise in today’s information age

  • daily changes to compliance obligations (e.g., trade policy, supply chain volatility)

  • updates to major international standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and dozens more)

Many of you have used the 12 Tools™ framework through workshops, consulting engagements, and/or template downloads. Although we’ve heard positive feedback on the methodology, broader implementation and internal scale has been difficult. Here are some voice-of-the-customer common themes:

  • “We want easier access for our teams, but we don’t need another piece of software.”

  • “I need on-going guidance, not just a one-time workshop.”

  • “Can we centralize everything in one place?”

  • “How do we scale this across multiple locations?”

The new 12 Tools™ platform is being built to solve these problems.

What Does This Mean For You?

Under Bodo’s technical leadership, our subscription-based community will be:

1. Easier to Access: You’ll be able to access free versions of the tools instantly, with clear upgrade paths when you’re ready for deeper implementation.

2. Easier to Implement: Each tool will include short, focused tutorials so your team understands not just what the tool is, but how to use it correctly.

3. Easier to Scale: Instead of isolated templates or static documents, the platform will allow organizations to roll out tools consistently across departments or sites.

4. Easier to Grow With: You’ll have access to

  • Free foundational resources

  • Paid courses for deeper training

  • Gap analysis and diagnostics

  • Ongoing support and structured learning pathways

This creates continuity, not just content.

What Changes? What Doesn’t?

What changes:

  • Access to best practices in compliance management

  • Depth and flexibility in how you learn from our body of knowledge

  • Tools supporting you as a facilitator & fellow instructor

  • A community of like-minded practioners & Thought Leaders

  • Integration of AI agency into tactical & strategic initiatives

What doesn’t change:

  • Our commitment to you - our students, clients & partners

  • Our determination to bring the 12 Tools™ Methodology to the world

  • Practicing what we preach - steady, incremental & sustainable improvement

  • A continued focus on solutions that support compliance management

  • Our mission to get others excited about what possible through process mastery

This isn’t about adding complexity. It’s about removing friction, promoting flow, and inviting others into our community to help us build a better way to work.

The Bigger Picture

We believe operational systems shouldn’t live in disconnected spreadsheets and scattered folders. They should live in an ecosystem. An environment where teams learn together, tools connect logically, progress is visible and improvement is structured. That’s what we’re building. That’s what And this transformation is designed around one outcome: Helping your organization implement the 12 Tools™ framework faster, more consistently, and with greater long-term impact. We’re excited about what’s ahead, and we’re building it for you.
